What areas of Benchmarking are of interest to the Polymer and Plastics Sector?
Increasingly energy has become a topic of discussion. One example of a programme to address this is ENER-Plast which is a European Community funded project, supported by the Intelligent Energy Europe programme.
The objective of ENER-Plast is to provide the European polymer and its associated industries with the information, resources and tools needed to reduce their carbon footprint and environmental impact.
Across Europe businesses have been hit hard by the rises in energy costs and the industry is now facing difficult choices as how to mitigate these costs. ENER-Plast will present a systematic approach to energy management and climate change and cuts through the many complexities to help companies understand and manage their energy consumption.
The ENER-Plast tools and resources will lead a company through designing a product and purchasing equipment to manufacturing, whilst addressing the energy efficiency at each stage when developing new, or redesigning existing products or component parts. ENER-Plast will go beyond energy management, enabling organisations to consider both their operations and revenue in the context of climate change. The results will be cost savings, clarity of responses to existing and pending legislation, operational improvements, corporate reputation and brand enhancement.
Factsheets, software applications, case studies and best practice guides will be made available through the ENER-Plast website.
However what other areas for Benchmarking are of interest to the Polymer and Plastics sector?
